She is survived by: her parents, Fred Wyatt and Hattie Wyatt; her spouse Donald Marion Furman; her daughter Mary Fitch (Richard); her grandchildren, Nicholas Fitch, Holly Carter (Dwan) and Jenna Fitch; her great grandchildren, Devin Carter, Daxel Carter and Julian Button; and her niece Katherine Watkins. She is also survived by 8 nieces and 3 nephews.
Ruth was very happy in 2007 when she and Don made a donation to the City of Ames to help fund the aquatic center.
