He was predeceased by : his parents, Charlotte Arndt and LeRoy Arndt; and his sister Carmeletta. He is survived by : his children, Elizabeth Borst (Darren) of Des Moines and Bryan Arndt (Emily) of Clive; and his grandchildren, Adeline, Isabel Arndt and Bergen Borst.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lutheran Church of Hope, Kirkendall Public Library and the Ankeny Senior Center.
