It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jervae Downing of Anthon, Iowa, born in Battle Creek, Iowa, who passed away on December 9, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carleton Houten and Blanche Van Houten (Lochner); her siblings, Anita Van Houten, Lila Volkmann, Lynelle Van Houten and Vernon Van Houten; her great grandchild Angel Wiskus; and also Kyle Heck.
She is survived by: her close friend Butch; her pet Homer; her daughters, Dawn Hysell (Rich) of Sioux City, IA, Dana Wendt (Tim Kollbaum) of Turin, IA, Dena Deeds (Jon Kelsheimer) of Anthon, IA and Denise Nelson (Justin) of Brandenburg, KY; her brothers, Gaylen Van Houten (Marilyn), Merlin Van Houten, Lorton "Denny" Van Houten (Linda) and Chosen (Butch Handke); and her nephews, Marvin Handke (Gina), Paul Handke (Kim) and Craig Handke (Lori). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the governor's proclamation, masks are mandatory and social distancing guidelines apply during all services.
