He is survived by : his child Marty (Constance Burns) of Audubon; his wife Jolene Burns of Guthrie Center, Iowa; his daughter Traci Irlmeier of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his grandchildren, Zachary (Cassandra Cleveland) of Bondurant, Iowa, Andrew (Brenna Irlmeier) of Omaha, Nebraska, Amanda Irlmeier of Council Bluffs, Jacob Burns of Audubon and Amy Burns of Audubon; his great grandchildren, Briley Cleveland of Bondurant and Kaiden Cleveland of Bondurant; his siblings, Karen Burns of Anita, Iowa and John Burns of Emmetsburg, Iowa; and his sister-in-law Janell Lowe of Audubon. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
