He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Gibson and Leona Gibson (Schweitzer); and his siblings-in-law, Doris Gibson and Don Meythaler. He is survived by: his spouse Katherine Johnson; his grandchild Julie (Brian); his daughters, Shannon and Sidney of Bettendorf; his siblings, Vicky Meythaler of Independence, Lanny Gibson (Maryann) of Elgin and Joe Gibson of Wadena; Katherine. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Emanuel Lutheran Church, Camp Ewalu, or the Oelwein VFW.
