He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Weirup and Lila Weirup (Conger); his brother Leo Weirup; and his sister-in-law Shirley Weirup. He is survived by: his former wife Ester Barten; his wife Arlene McAnnany of Baldwin, IA; his children, Roderick Weirup (Julie) of Delmar, IA, Jolene "Jo" Freeman (Jeff) of Eldridge, IA and Chad Weirup (Susan) of Lost Nation, IA; his stepson Burt Moreau of Virginia Beach, VA; and his brother James Weirup (Connie) of Andrew, IA. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Hospice of Jackson County or any children's charity.
