He was predeceased by: his father Sheldon Freeborn. He is survived by: his mother Doris Jean Freeborn (Hamilton) of Altoona; his friend Church; his wife Doris Marie McMahan of Barnes City; his daughters, Angela Smith (Clayton) of Pleasantville and Karen Smithson (Laverne) of Stanberry, MO; his grandchildren, Emily Riedel (Riley), Marissa Peneston (Graysan), Sierra Hallmann, Samuel Hallmann (Jess), Calvin, Vincent and Trevin Smithson; his great grandchildren, Lizzie, Olivia Riedel, Theo Peneston and Harper Hallmann; his stepgrandsons, Alex Smith, Cody Smith, Dylan Hildreth (Cadence) and Norman Smith; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Brandon Sorter, Katy, John Smith, Lila and Arlo Hildreth; his sister Mary Kirk; and his sister-in-law Laurie McMahan. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home (201 W Main St, Montezuma, IA 50171). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
