He was predeceased by : his parents, Ardeth Jenison Paule and Richard Paule; his stepfather Walt Laake; his brother-in-law Steven Schnell; his aunt Margaret; and his uncles, George (Agnes), Leland (Norma Jeanne), Arnold (Dorothy) and Robert (Nancy).

He is survived by : his sisters, Luanne Krabbe (Cal), Kathy Schnell and Nancy Huisinga; his aunt Elna Day (Gary); his nieces and nephews, Christian Williams, Daniel Krabbe, Sam Huisinga, Kaitlyn Munro, Suzy Stoecklein and Kelly Huisinga; his brother-in-law J. Huisinga; his stepsiblings, Teresa Nguyen, Mya Vaknin, Mike Laake, Hank Laake, Jos Laake and Gigi Laake Holtzman; and his nephew Joey Laake. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
