He was predeceased by : his parents, John Francis "Jack" and Margaret Frances McLaughlin (Blair); and his siblings, Margaret Mary McLaughlin, Betty Cook (Phil), Carmen Monnihan (Jerry) and Jim McLaughlin (Edith).
He is survived by : his wife Ramona McLaughlin of Belmond; his sons, Joseph Wayne McLaughlin of Belmond, Jonathan Ray McLaughlin of Melbourne, Anthony Duane McLaughlin (Gayla) of Belmond and Mark Alan McLaughlin (Pattie) of Apollo Beach, Florida; his grandchildren, Erin Strong (Mike), Tonishia Dockstader (Eric), Chase McLaughlin (Kacie), Jordon McLaughlin (Sarah) and Zachariah McLaughlin (Ashleigh); his great grandchildren, Mykaela, Kyara, Keenen, Emersyn, Bailey, Anthony, Alexander (Daryl), Kinzee (Cheryl), Murphy and Hayden; and his siblings, Gert Bormann (Dick) of Humboldt, Ruth Aldrich (Jim) of Belmond and Steve McLaughlin (Sharon) of Phoenix, Arizona. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, Joe's family suggests memorial contributions be made to Belmond VFW, Belmond Food Pantry, or St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and sent to their attention c/o Ewing Funeral Home, P.O. Box 301, Belmond, Iowa, 50421.
