It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mark Nelson of Belmond, Iowa, who passed away on August 24, 2021, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Reuben Nelson and Eleonore Nelson (Gudim); his wife Cathy; his grandparents, Emelia Nelson, Albert and Margit Gudim; his brother-in-law Dallas Backer; and his nephew Joseph.

He is survived by : his sisters, Sonja Backer, Beth Toftey (Brian) and Carol Krasieski (Greg); and also, Joel Nelson (Sue) and Brandy Nix.

Memorials can be sent to The Belmond Historical Museum, the Bark Park in Belmond, IA, St. Olaf Cemetery, and The Wright County Hospice or your choice of charity.
