He was predeceased by : his parents, Elling Ellingston and Nettie Osada Ellingston (Ulstad); his daughter Deb Obrecht; his great grandchild Jayden; and his siblings, Maxine Michelson (Elmer), Virgil Bailey (Keith), Eunice Christenson (Lloyd), Bernice Nelson (Robert), Avis Hopkey (Marvin) and Leo Ellingston.

He is survived by : his wife Rebecca "Becky" Charlotta Janssen; his children, Charlotta, Debra, Lynn of Belmond and Char Rokke (Paul); his grandchildren, Gina Prohaska (Steve), Jared Rokke (Amanda), Jason Rokke (Caylee), Jeff Obrecht (Taylor Summers), David Obrecht, Katie VanZwol (Dillan), Austin Ellingston (Kailee Williams) and Brianna Williams (Jeremy); and his sister-in-law Opal Ellingston. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
