With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia R. Wachenheim of Belmond, Iowa, who passed away on February 4, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her father Carl C Patterson; her sister-in-law Gert Patterson; her husband Lee; her mother Blanche Patterson; and her parents-in-law, Marie and Walter Wachenheim.
She is survived by : her children, James Wachenheim (Kimberly) of Oxford, Ohio and Lee Ann Waltzing (John) of Belmond; her grandson Scott Waltzing (Noel Seawel) of Johnston; her great grandchild Remi; her granddaughter Sarah (Nick) of Urbandale; her great grandchild Lyla; her granddaughter Gretchen Wachenheim (Kyle Jones) of Cincinnati; her great grandchild Osborne; her granddaughter Hannah Wachenheim (Alex Ward) of Louisville, Kentucky; and her sister Pat Powers (James) of Indianola, Iowa. She is also survived by 180 nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to the Lee G. & Virginia P. Wachenheim Scholarship at Belmond-Klemme Community School District (411 10th Ave NE, Belmond, IA 50421).
