It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carroll Powell of Bettendorf, Iowa, born in Stronghurst, Illinois, who passed away on August 11, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Burris and Opal Genevieve Ruggles (Neal); her siblings, Barbra (Allan Kraklow), Bill (Janice Ruggles), Neal (Vicky Ruggles) and David Criswell (Mary Ruggles) of Aledo; her son Scott Preston; her husband Powell; her significant other Donald Brown, Jr.; and her siblings, Burris (Gloria Ruggles), Bob (Rita Ruggles), Keith Ruggles and Betty Criswell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cheryl Preston of Edgington, Lori Rutten of Davenport and Vicki Rosmann (Paul) of Illinois City; her grandchildren, David Preston, Paul Rosmann, Jr. (Cassandra), Joel Preston (Kayla), Whitney Rutten and Ashley Rosmann; her great grandchildren, Paige, Bailey, Chase Preston and Breelyn Rosmann; and her sisters, Bonnie Doss of Illinois City, Wanda White (Pat Hynes) and Martha (Dennis Bedford). She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many extended family members and dear friends.
In accordance with gathering restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a mask and observe social distancing.
