He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Gluba; his children, Katherine Cox (Kerry), LeClaire, Charles "Charlie" Messmer (Dee), Carol Adelmund and Constance Messmer (Stephen Bernier); his grandchildren, Zachary Etzel (Sarah), Jacob Messmer, Sean Messmer, Steven Adelmund (Alicia), Michelle Adelmund, Paul Adelmund, Serogia Bernier, Andrei Bernier and Olya Bernier; his great grandchildren, Bryce, Brooklyn, Kayla, Nicholas and Daisy Mae; and his brother Ronald Messmer.
