He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Snyder and Ethel Snyder (Nash); and his siblings, Dorothy and Bob. He is survived by: his wife Betty L. Whitehead; his son Douglas; his daughter-in-law Debra Snyder of Bettendorf; and his grandsons, J. D. Snyder (Heather) and Chad Snyder.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.
