He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Megown and Madge Megown; and his siblings, Juanita Taliaferro, Darlene Megown, Robert, Richard and Neil Megown.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Horstmeyer; his children, Dale Megown (Jennifer) of Portage, WI, Lisa Shoumaker of Davenport, IA and Judy Schneider (Darrin); his grandchildren, Mallory Bare (Ben) of Renton, WA, Corey Megown (Mallory), Luke Shoumaker of Peoria, IL, Whitney Shoumaker, Nick Schneider of Preston, IA and Kayla Frazier (Brandon); and his great grandchildren, Archer, Rooney Bare, Addie Allred, Sophia, Bodhi, Presley Shoumaker, Zechariah Drilling, Emma, Wyatt, Harper Schneider, Leah, Sawyer Frazier and Ike.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Paul Memorial Garden in Davenport, with a public memorial service to be held at a later date, due to COVID.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Camp Shalom.
