He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Flores and Carmen Flores (Alvarado); and his siblings, Ralph Flores, Fred Flores, Joseph Flores, Mary Salais and Millie Ruiz.
He is survived by: his former wife Colleen McGovern; his children, James Guzzo (Jodi), Jeffery Guzzo (Nitaya), Richard Flores Jr., Cynthia Flores and Pamela Kraus (Bryan); his grandchildren, Melissa Guzzo, Molly Sullivan (Cody), James Drummond (Becca), Dalton Sereno, Kirsty Flores, Christopher Flores, Johnathan Flores and Austin Flores; and his sister Janet Reyes. He is also survived by his seven great-grandchildren; his one great-great grandson.
Due to the pandemic, the family will have private family graveside services at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion #26.
