He is survived by: his wife Vickie; his siblings, Debra Wulf (John) of Crab Orchard, Randy Bates (Carla) of Stanford, Rick Bates (Shielda) of Danville, Ritchie Bates of Stanford, Robbie Bates (Annette) of Danville, Ronnie Bates (Sue) of Danville and Tom Bates (Sonya) of Albany; his niece Kayla Ellis of Davenport; his friend Bill Fenton of LeClaire; and also, Reggie and Frankie.
