It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Susie M. Sumstine (Bettendorf, Iowa), who passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles F. Ortman and Doris M. Ortman (Gehrke); her siblings, Dick Ortman, Mary Kay Meyer, Bill Ortman, Kevin Regal and Vic Dorn; and her nephew Charlie Delp.
She is survived by: her husband Steven W. Sumstine; her daughters, Laurie Schadler of Bettendorf, Jennifer Hinsberger (William) of Bettendorf, Michele Gosau (Tim) of Hamburg and Stacy Gaucys (Vygis) of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren, Nicole Huettman (Jay), Spencer Wise, Cameron Wise (Alyssa), Zachary Pessman, Madeline Schadler, Jasper Wise, Carter Schadler, Holly, Lucy, Henry Gosau, Matthew Hinsburger and Justin Hinsburger; her great grandchildren, Lainey Huettman, Rinsley Hinsberger, Jace, Haven and Kora Hinsberger; her sisters, Margie Tallman, Sally Chapman (Dennis), Ann Dorn, Kathy Regal and Linda Van Erstvelde (Greg); her sisters-in-law, Elaine Ortman and Linda Gonzalez; her brother Charlie Ortman (Judy); her brother-in-law Gary Meyer; and her close friends, Carol, Sandy and Danita.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home (644 River Dr, Bettendorf, IA 52722). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
