He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Hillis and Wilma Eva Grimes (Cozad); his brother Dean Grimes; and his siblings-in-law, Jeanette Grimes and Jerry Hazel.
He is survived by: his wife Doris J. Leedle; his sons, Brian Grimes of Moline, Brad Grimes (Shannon) of Tama and Keith Grimes (Augusta) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his stepchildren, Teresa Leedle of Bettendorf and Gregory Leedle of Bettendorf; his grandchildren, Riley Grimes, Alexanderia Leedle, Brittany Leedle and Isaac Leedle; his brothers, Gary Grimes (Connie) of Newton, Hoyt Grimes (Jill) of Newton, Dwight Grimes of Newton and Randy Grimes (Pam) of Utah; his siblings-in-law, Ilene Grimes of DeWitt, Liz Freds (Mike) of Michigan, Mary Laws (Lewey) of Marshall, Karen Church (Gary) of Leesburg, Florida, Larry Hazel of Marshall and Doug Hazel (Sharon) of Coldwater, Michigan; and his niece Debra Laws of Marshall.
