He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Cecil and Anna Berlie Hannan (Lewis); and his siblings, Dean, Richard, Allen, Kenney, Bonnie and Carolyn.
He is survived by: his wife Florence Helen Boone; his children, Sheila Covert (Dennis), Terri Bride (John) and Dennis Hannan (Lisa); his grandchildren, Missy Cloyd (Ryan), Carmen Glick (Steve), Jeremiah Covert (Susanna), Josh Bride (Mable), Monica Steen (Tim), Bridget Findley (Shane), Shaun Hannan and Stormy Hannan (Chrystal); and his sister Jaquelin Steele. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Friends of the Blakesburg Public Library or Friends of the Blakesburg Historical Preservation Society.
