He was predeceased by: his parents, Lota Ruby and Mary Ruby (Jones). He is survived by: his wife Beverly Dalton; and his children, Tina Cunningham (Bruce) of Council Bluffs, Tonya Simonsen (Tim) of Ottumwa, Tammy Snyder (Jamie) of Blakesburg, Michelle Hutchins (Rodney) of Dover, Melody Ruby of Floris and Michael Ruby of Blakesburg. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties or to the Blakesburg Public Library.
