It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elaine Marie Cottrell of Boone, Iowa, who passed away on February 9, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Sanborn and Alice Sanborn (Shepard); her husband Herbert Cottrell; her son Brian Cottrell; her son-in-law Lyle Babbitt; and her sisters, Janet Nielson, Audrey Johnson and Ruth Peterson.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin Cottrell (Kathie) of Boone and Brenda Babbitt of Boone; and her daughter-in-law Cathy Cottrell of Boone. She is also survived by four grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Boone Municipal Band, Westhaven Community, and Suncrest Hospice, or to the family to use at their discretion.
