It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Elmore (Burlington, Iowa), born in Kahoka, Missouri, who passed away on May 7, 2018, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Everett and Edith Blythe Elmore; and his former wife Doreen. He is survived by: his spouses, Doreen Brockelman and Martha of Burlington; his children, Marcia Walker (David), Linda Elmore, Tom Elmore (Geri) of Burlington, Max Elmore of Jacksonville and Dennis Elmore (Barbara) of West Burlington; and his stepchildren, Bob Barton (Linda) of Forest Lake, MN, John Barton (Joyce) of Burlington, Kay Persinger (Larry) of Norman, OK, Carol Franklin of Burlington, Mary Moss (Frank) of Kingston and Patricia Slama (Mike) of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the St. Vincent De Paul food pantry.
