He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Saldeen and Phyllis Saldeen (Hatman); his son Timothy Thompson; and his siblings, Joann Mitchell, Jim Saldeen, Jack Saldeen, Jerry Saldeen and Jeffery Saldeen.

He is survived by: his wife Myrna Lynn Burr; his daughters, Annjanette Moyers (Patrick Sr.) of Oquawka, Suzanne Grisham (Brian) of Lomax and Lora Gittings (Mike) of Lomax; his siblings, Dan Saldeen of Tulsa and Susie Johnson (Bill) of Mason City; and his friends, Dick Lox, Dave Swanson and Scout Master Andy Anderson. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.
