He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence C. Miller and Alberta Miller (Fisher); his wife Florence Douglas; his son LaVerne Miller; his siblings, Laverne W. Miller, Agatha Cobb, Lucille Wickerham and Mary Angeline Graham; and his children-in-law, Diana Miller and Mike Krehbiel.

He is survived by : his children, Barbara Schoell (Fred) of Overland Park, Lillian Krehbiel of Omaha, Margette Wiemann (Jerry) of Burlington and Merrill "Pete" Miller (Peggy) of Houston, Texas; and his friend Mary Flieg of Sigourney, Iowa. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.

A memorial has been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
