He was predeceased by : his parents, Nick Dykstra and Minnie Dykstra (Walraven); and his siblings, Esther Kampenaar, Virgil Dykstra and Merle Dykstra.

He is survived by : his wife Ruth Dykstra; his children, Todd Dykstra (Cindy) of Ankeny and Tonya Ensor (Dan) of Ankeny; his brother Vernon Dykstra; his grandchildren, Jacob Ensor, Samantha Nicol (Logan), Zachary Dykstra and Madison Dykstra; his great grandchild Henry; and his sister-in-law Jane Havener (Charles). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
