It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Short (Carroll, Iowa), born in Gray, Iowa, who passed away on January 8, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Spaen and Elenore Spaen (Kerwin); her daughter Kelly Short; her husband James Short; her brother Dave Spaen; her mother-in-law Coletta Short; and her siblings-in-law, Bob Short and Kathy Spaen.
She is survived by: her friend Nick; her sons, Chris Short and Mark Suing of Lindstrom, MN; her grandchildren, Tessa, Sterling Short and Anthony Short of Carroll; her great grandchildren, Adrian Short and Audrey Hill of Carroll; her siblings, Judith Spaen of Omaha and Richard Spaen (Sharon) of Woodbury, MN; her brother-in-law Francis Short of Carroll; and her siblings' children, Danielle Spaen, Eric Spaen and Mark Short.
