He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Clay and Esther Butler (Campbell); his sister Betty Lou Bonawitz; and his sons, Jeffrey and John Butler.
He is survived by: his sons, James Butler (Kelli) of Cedar Falls, IA and Joseph Butler (Kim) of Janesville, IA; and his daughter-in-law Kathy Butler of Port Ritchey, FL.. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
