He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Herbert Eugene and Mary Elizabeth Fitzgerald; his spouse Hall; his former wife Patricia Steggall; and his children, Steve (Diane Clement) of Marshalltown, Amy Stewart (Greg) of Fairfax, Jane Lasko (Brian) of Lakeville, Minn, Ann Sheetz (Bob) of Oxford, Ind and Beth Melchior (Steve) of Cedar Rapids.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund in Barney's name will be established with the Cedar Rapids Softball Hall of Fame.
