She is survived by: her husband Richard "Joe" Merz of Cedar Rapids; her children, Shawn Merz (Trista) of Denver, Colorado, Heather Kupka (Travis) of Thornton, Colorado and Molly Merz (Brian Sanderson) of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Natalie Merz, Kylie, Ethan and Cody Kupka; and her siblings, Rita Adam (Harry) of Columbus Junction, Kathleen Berg (Michael) of Harper, Patrick "Joe" Hammes (Debbie) of St. Charles, Stephen Hammes (Jo Anne) of Cedar Rapids, Connie Dooley (Don) of Lake Oswego, Sandy Fisher (Dave) of Kansas City, John Hammes (Lisa) of Shawnee, Judy Hilgenberg (Jim) of Bettendorf, Marilyn Abrams (Larry) of Iowa City, Brenda Hammes of Coralville, Ed Hammes (Laurie) of Sigourney and Rick Hammes of North Liberty.
