It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Abernathy (Cedar Rapids, Iowa), born in Eldora, Iowa, who passed away on March 8, 2019, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Abernathy; her children, Connie Drexler and Rodney Drexler; her siblings, Ellen Comried, Myrtle "Babe" Yardley, Darlene Kerr, Chuck, Bob, Don and Russell Moss; and her parents, Charles Moss and Olive Moss (Miner).
She is survived by: her children, Terry Drexler (Patti) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Debbie Wernimont (Bob) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Sonny Drexler of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mary Abernathy of San Francisco and Ann Bockelman (Tarryl) of North Liberty, IA; and her spouse Merle Drexler. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
