He was predeceased by: his father Scott Willis; his grandparents, Charlie Perkins, Martha Perkins Byrd, Oscar Byrd, Hugh and Lucile Willis; and his aunts, Sherri Willis and Connie Davis Sturgeon.

He is survived by: his mother Peg Willis (Perkins); his brother Clifton Willis; and his sibling's children, Caden Willis and Elizabeth Willis.

He completed his residency at Cedar Rapids Medical Education Foundation through the University of Iowa.
