She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence A. and Leona B. Melhus (Schminke); her sons, Brian C. Schirm and Jeffrey A. Schirm; and her former husband Charles I. Schirm.
She is survived by: her significant other Rick Moses; her siblings, Kathleen Stickney (William) of North Liberty and Kenneth Melhus (Sheila) of Papillion, NE; and her siblings' children, Stacy Stickney Ferguson (John) of Minneapolis, MN, Kendra Malik (Bobby), Steven Stickney (Lynette), Jon Stickney (Patti) and Michael Melhus (Abbey). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
