He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. McVay and Berniece McVay (Sterns); and his siblings, Barb Tompkins and Dennis McVay. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca McVay of Cedar Rapids; his children, Deidra McVay (Casey), Sylvia McVay and Jacob McVay (Jess); his grandchildren, Shyanne Wiegel (Zach), Jaiden McVay, Kain McVay, Raiven McVay, Kaileigh McVay, Gage Vaverka, Karter McVay, Adalyn McVay and Brinley McVay; his great grandchildren, Frederick and Sutton Wiegel; and his sisters, Jeanette Pearson, Robin Hootman, Nancy Perry, Sherry McVay, Peggy Stangland and Judy Lovelett. He is also survived by his family and lifelong friends.
