She was predeceased by: her mother Viola Knowlton (Barrow); and her brother Wayne Garvey. She is survived by: her father John Knowlton of Cedar Rapids, IA; her husband Raymond K. "Rusty" Swyers of Cedar Rapids, IA; her children, Jeffery Wayne Miller (Karen) of Midway, IA and Kelly Ann Mather of Hiawatha, IA; her sisters, Ruth Heiken (late Ken Heiken) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Sue Ford of California; her grandson Daniel Dalton Vandaver; and her great grandchild Zane Raymond Vandaver.
