He was predeceased by: his wife Lillian; his son John; and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his children, Michael (Diane) of Cedar Rapids, Linda Lynch of Cedar Rapids and Virginia Uhlenkamp (Michael) of Breda; his daughter-in-law Lisa Lynch of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Kate, Dan (Jessica), Kyle (Alyce), Cory (Elizabeth), Chris, Connor, Colin, Cole and Cami; his brother Don Lynch (Beverly); and his parents, Eugene Lynch and Mary Coons Lynch. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
