He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Vifian and Fern Vifian (Rainbird); his wife Mary Ellen; his daughter Ellen Marie; and his sisters, Patricia Joy (Walter) and Marilyn Wenger (Richard).
He is survived by: his children, Teresa Hollan (Doug) of Alburnett, Kim Murphy (Tim) of Fort Myers and Mike Vifian (Kelly) of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
