He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Hazewinkel and Marie Hazewinkel (Kray); his wife Lorna; and his daughter Diane Lee Hazewinkel. He is survived by: his children, Herbert Jr. "Butch" Hazewinkel (Mary), Kathy Jayne (Mark) and Michael Hazewinkel (Karen); his sister Darlene Robinson of June Stephens; and his siblings-in-law, Nadine Hazewinkel, Loretta Shearer and Larry Foubert. He is also survived by six grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.
