He was predeceased by: his parents, Naomi Mettler (Miller) and Alfred Mettler; and his siblings, Kenneth, Eileen, Kathleen and Joyce.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Mettler of Anamosa, Iowa; his brothers, Robert Mettler of Anamosa, Iowa and Douglas Mettler (Vicki) of Hopkinton, Iowa; and his children, Ricky Mettler (Linda) of Post Falls, ID, Carol Mettler of Anamosa, Iowa, Carla Haverly (Kyle) of Anamosa, Iowa and Sandy McBride of Anamosa, Iowa. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, and many loving extended family.
