He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. and Mary E. Rhea; his wife Julie Rhea; and also Halvorson There. He is survived by: his spouse Jeanette Halverson; his children, James H. Rhea, Jamie Halvorson, Rebecca Gordon and Randy Burgess; and his sisters, Nancy Oliver and Judy Manginolli. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
