It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kae Crary Schmickley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Sioux City, Iowa, who passed away on February 11, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Nelson and Isabelle Nelson (Dunlap); her husband James H. Schmickley; and her brother Eugene Nelson. She is survived by: her children, Michael (Julie) of Algonquin, Illinois, Susan Zacek Jr. (Eldon) of Concord and Keith (Julie) of Marion; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Bradley, Eldon III (Anita), Valerie (Alex), Kameron (Jamie), Quinn (Madonna), Mitchell, Emma, Cole, Leah and Allan; and her great grandchildren, Danika, Gabby, Jack, Devan, Mateo and Oliver.
