It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kathleen McConnell Simon of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Decorah, Iowa, who passed away on November 18, 2021, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Patrick McConnell and Irene Kathern McConnell (Snitker); her brother Thomas McConnell; and her father-in-law Harold Simon. She is survived by: her former husband Gary Roling; her husband James Simon; her children, Ellen Borst (Evan), Benjamin Roling (Danielle) and Emily Zingale (Anthony); her stepson Timothy Simon; and her siblings, Mary Cook (Dennis), Jane Murray (Ray), Maureen Yahr (Ervin) and David McConnell (Brenda). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
