He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Gibbs and Wilda Gibbs (Walmer); his brothers, William Gibbs and Dean Gibbs; and his sisters-in-law, Nina Gibbs and Marilyn Gibbs.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Gibbs of Cedar Rapids and Kenny Gibbs (Stayce) of Ely, Iowa; his grandchildren, Travis Gibbs, Andrew Gibbs, Tai and Wilcox; his great grandchild Brayden Gibbs; his siblings, Kathleen Dotts (Russell) of New Virginia, Ellis "Butch" Gibbs (Joy) of Des Moines and Floyd Gibbs (Marilyn); and his sister-in-law Helen Gibbs of Pekin, Illinois. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
