Maxine Smith Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 2, 2021, at the age of 93, Maxine Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Marion, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her granddaughter Sara Berger; her mother-in-law Dora Smith; her son-in-law Don Berger; her stepsister Mary Thompson; and her parents, Clarence Leo and Mabel McHenry Kimes.
She is survived by: her husband Ronald "Smitty"; her daughters, Vicki Berger of Cedar Rapids, Janis Taravella of San Anselmo, CA and Kim Nelson (Larry Horak) of Marion; her stepdaughters, Karla Visser (Dan) of Pella and Sheila Lindman (Michael) of Des Moines; her grandchildren, Jon, Jonah (Kristin), Chris, Serena, Christopher and Summer; her stepgrandchildren, Ashley (Nate), Mitchell and Jimmy; her great grandchildren, Korbin, Sixxten, Suska, Anuhea, Kali, Keale, Syler, Alana, Rocky, Judah and Alyssa; and her former husbands, Clark Luedeman and Ronald L. Smith. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Those not attending the Vigil Service may visit with the family from 4:30 to 7 p. m. Per Covid guidelines, invited attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
Memorials may be directed to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
