He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Schirm and Marie Schirm (Stolte). He is survived by: his sons, Steven (Kimberly), Thomas (Kathy) and Michael (Madonna); his grandchildren, James, Dru, Chris, Ben and Sarah; his siblings, Joyce Twachtmann and Russell (Pat); his siblings-in-law, Herb Tholen (Betty), John Tholen (Kathy), Robert Jennings, Dorothea Ede, Elnora Husmann and Ann Tholen; his brother Robert; and his siblings-in-law, Walt Twachtmann, William Ede, Robert Husmann, Harold Tholen, Bernhardt Tholen and Patricia Jennings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family of Melvin Schirm.
