He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Couser and Margaret Couser; his brother John Couser; and his son Paul Couser. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca; his son Gregory Couser (Marianne); his grandchildren, Chad, Ethan, Madison of Rochester, MN and Rachel Couser of Cedar Rapids; and his siblings, Charles, Michael of Cedar Rapids, Sue Enyart of Cedar Rapids and Jane Hale of Rochester, MN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
