It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Louis Helmer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Iowa City, Iowa, who passed away on October 29, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Helmer and Leatha Helmer; his wife Barbara Knowles; and his sister Jean. He is survived by: his children, Theresa Arn (Bob) of West Branch, Deborah Chalupa (Duane) of Riverside, Sharon Hermansen (Dan) of Alexandria and Louis Helmer of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
