She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Groat and Martha Groat. She is survived by: her husband Donald Novak of Cedar Rapids; and her siblings, Jerry Buttleman (Jim) of Cedar Rapids, Bob Groat of Colorado, Darold Groat (Mary) of Colorado and Pat Megown (Jeff) of Marion. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
