We are sad to announce that on February 18, 2022, at the age of 97, Thomas G. Van Woert Sr. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Canistota, South Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Woert and Clara Van Woert (Schlueter); his wife Margaret Sommer; his grandson Brian Beltz; and his brother Donald Van Woert.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Rossow of Cedar Rapids, Carol Van Woert of Cedar Rapids, Cathy Berggren (Gary) of Marion, Connie Van Woert of Hiawatha, Thomas Van Woert Jr. of Cedar Rapids and Nancy Powell-Bodeen (Johnny Bodeen) of Hiawatha; his grandchildren, Chad Rossow (Cassandra), Travis Van Woert, John Berggren, Scott Berggren (Elisabeth), Corinne Krutzfield (Brandon), Clara Hoff and Mike Powell; and his great grandchildren, Owen, Josie Berggren and Lucy Krutzfield.
Memorials may be directed to the Winslow House Care Center in Marion.
